Geoff Naylor
President
Geoff Naylor was a regular down at the Math Club before working his way up to president. He is a pure math enthusiast; loving the fields of analysis and topology in particular, but he still has room in his heart for some abstract algebra. He is also a major game buff who can lecture you for hours on why Dark Souls is the pinnacle of modern game design. |

Michael Miller
Vice President
I am a fourth year Political Science student who started his academic career in Mathematics. I am currently specializing in strategy and warfare in Political Science. I joined the Math Club four years ago to make friends and find other people to talk math with. My favorite part of the Math Club is hanging out with all my friends, talking math (especially PDEs, ODEs and Game Theory) and playing board games. I really enjoy applying Mathematics to theories of strategy and Political Science. My goal as Vice-President this year is to get more people involved in the Math Club. I hope to see many new faces this year! |

Sally Kim

Sally is a third year Science student majoring in Math. The Math Club used to be a place she would venture only when she had to, such as obtaining exam packs. But after getting her foot in the club, Sally now enjoys spending her free time lounging on the comfy couches and admiring the chalkboards that are filled with marks enthusiastic Math Club members have left behind. I have been with the Math Club for 3 years and want to see it do well after I leave. I believe the Math Club is the best place on campus for an enthusiastic undergrad to find a casual conversation about most mathematical topics. I encourage newcomers to pick up where I leave off by sharing their interests at the Math Club. By getting involved, I've been fortunate to meet some of the best undergraduate minds at UBC and have made important connections that will last me my lfe time. These people encouraged me to push myself and build a strong, employable skill set in the quantitative sciences: math (probability), statistics, and computer science. Choose the UBC Math Club, and develop opportunities for all math majors (and honours). |

I am a third-year student in Economics, with a special interest in Mathematics. I enjoy the Math Club because it gives me a place to engage in lively debate with other students in various topics, not only math! Also, given that I am interested in pursuing Mathematical Economics and Econometrics in the future, the MC is also a wonderful and encouraging environment in which I can discuss the material I have been covering in my courses. Outside of the MC, I enjoy reading, swimming, and hiking. |
